Arcadia, California

Arcadia is a city of about 60,000 people, located east of Pasadena, below the San Gabriel Mountains. It is known for its beautiful neighborhoods, its many trees, and its peacocks. It is a full-service city, with its own police department, fire department, library, and the award-winning Arcadia Unified School District.

Arcadia has many attractive features, including high-quality medical services, wonderful shopping, the famous horse race track Santa Anita Park (home of "Seabiscuit"), and the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Gardens (original home of those previously mentioned peacocks). Summer activities at the Arboretum include Concerts in the Park, performed by the Pasadena POPS and conducted by Michael Feinstein.

Arcadia was named one of the "Best Places to Raise Your Kids" by Bloomberg Businessweek in 2009 and 2010.
