South Pasadena is a city of about 25,000 people, located north of Los Angeles, south of Pasadena, and west of San Marino. It has its own police and fire departments, and the high-performing South Pasadena Unified School District.  

South Pasadena Historica Museum, South Pasadena, CaliforniaSouth Pasadena is known for its small-town feel, its many historic properties, and its beautifully landscaped streets. The Fair Oaks Pharmacy and Soda Fountain and the Rialto Theater are examples of the historic commercial architecture of the city. The South Pasadena Historical Museum is housed in the Meridian Iron Works building, listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

The Farmers' Market, held every Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., offers California-grown and freshly picked produce, and has been rated one of the best farmers' markets in the area.
